Reflecting on My Business Evolution: An Insight from 2024 as We Approach 2025
Workcations give me an opportunity to reflect and recharge.
This is going to be a pretty short blog post.
The main reason: it's inspired and unplanned. Think of it as an a-ha moment I decided to share because it speaks to a core concept of this Free At 50 blog- building life on your terms after spending years gaining the skills and experience that give you the ability to make it happen.
So I'm sitting in one of my favorite workcation retreats, drinking coffee and going off-script. In other words, writing a post for this blog was not on my "goal" list for this workcation!

Recharging is a key element of a workcation.
Focusing on the big picture isn't always easy, so for me, stepping away to do it recharges me. Vital for a solopreneur and blogger. In order to see the big picture, I'll go back and look at notes: brain dumps, goalsetting, trainings and so forth.
As I'm drinking my coffee this morning, I opened a notebook I've used for multiple trainings over the last couple years and was stunned to read my notes from one done in January 2024 focused on clarity and crafting a vision.
The result: jumping onto Groove and writing this post, journal-style!

Michele Leah's take on crafting a vision brought me clarity.
I've whittled down the number of Facebook groups I'm in related to entrepreneurship as I've evolved my business this year. One group I've stayed with: Rising Female Entrepreneurs by my friend, Michele Leah.
Why? Michele is simply inspiring. Her skills come from personal experience (read her Free At 50 interview here).
On January 5th, Michele offered up a live training on crafting a vision and gaining clarity. It was timely for me as this blog was headed into being 4 years old and although I'm passionate about the concept, wasn't earning income to sustain me.
However... I had started a hobby blog on history (click here to open it in a new tab if you want to check it out!). By using Michele's advice, process, and getting it all on paper, I was headed into 2024 with a clarity. With a vision. And the hobby blog is now my business blog.

The insight I want to share with you.
I didn't have the answers to "how" I was going to evolve my business on January 5th. But looking at my notes from that day, I realized this morning that the vision has guided my decisions as the months passed.
Yes: the Free At 50 lifestyle I want to continue, my daily life, my goals, my passion for blogging and for history... I made it happen with decisions and ACTIONS that serve me.
Those actions can be found on this blog in summary. And my hope is you find yourself on the continuous path into building the life you envision for yourself.
Taking action.
