Although I cherished my role as an educator, I realized that there were other aspects of my life that needed my attention. In this article, I’ll be sharing a few reasons why I quit my job to become a homemaker, and how I’m embracing this new chapter!

Choosing a Simplified Lifestyle
It’s no secret that balancing the demands and stresses of work can definitely take its toll. I quit my job to become a homemaker for one primary reason—because my life lacked simplicity. I wanted to create a lifestyle that allowed me to be more physically (and emotionally) available for my family, instead of always rushing from place to place.
The truth is, in today’s society, we’re often taught that career achievements and financial success are the keys to happiness. But stepping away from the professional scenery has given me a different perspective on life.
Since leaving the workforce, I’ve begun to live life at a calmer pace. And I have more appreciation for the little things… such as morning walks, quiet moments in nature, and creating precious memories with my family.

Embracing My Role as a Homemaker
When I quit my job to become a homemaker, I didn’t quite know what to expect. But with each passing day, I’m beginning to find myself in this new role.
Since leaving the classroom, I’ve continued dedicating my professional skills towards essential tasks. As a homemaker, I manage appointments, schedules, foster emotional support, provide a stable environment, and I’m responsible for the overall maintenance of my home. These are all crucial elements that contribute to the success and happiness of my family.
Becoming a homemaker has allowed me to invest in several areas of my life. All around, I’m in a better place than I was several years ago—mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
Since leaving the workforce, I’ve tremendously grown as a person. But more importantly, I’m a better wife and mom as well.

Cooking, writing, and organizing my home are simple, everyday pleasures that I enjoy. Besides pursuing creative hobbies, I’m also able to prioritize self-care and personal development. Homemaking has allowed me to enhance my own well-being, and has provided me with the freedom to craft a life that truly resonates with my values.
